Thanksgiving Day in Canada has been a holiday on the second Monday of October since 1957. It is a chance for people to give thanks for a good harvest and other good things in the past year.
At MCRS, we are incredibly thankful for:
- The opportunity we have to help courageous people as they seek Canada’s protection.
- The support of many donors who ensure we can be here with open doors. We do not receive any government funds. Our work is possible only because of the love and commitment of our community.
- The numerous volunteers and interns without whom we could not run our programs.
- The freedom we have to help. There are many organizations like ours around the world who have been prosecuted and stripped of their right to exist simply because they sought justice for those seeking safety.
Please note: The MCRS office will be closed on this day and will re-open Tuesday, October 15th at 9:00am.
